On the 18th of March 2021, the Blue Growth Community Horizontal Project was invited to participate to NEORION Interreg ADRION project’s final event, which took place online, through the “gotomeeting” platform.
More than 45 participants attended the event which focused on "Blue Growth and Shipbuilding Industry: innovation trends and opportunities of cooperation in the Adrion and Mediterranean area”. The event was organized by CCIAA VE RO (Camera di Commercio Industria Artigianato e Agricoltura di VENEZIA ROVIGO), partner of NEORION project.
During the event, the NEORION project’s concept and platform were presented, by the LP (University of the Aegean), as well as several innovation trends regarding the shipbuilding industry (e.g. electric boats, shipbuilding robotics, autonomous ships, cold ironing, etc.) by other participants.
Opportunities of cooperation were also presented by several speakers and by different angles, taking into consideration that the Adriatic Sea is part of the Mediterranean Sea and cannot be handled separately.
The Interreg MED Blue Growth Community project was represented by Prof. Ioannis Chatjigeorgiou, Vice-Rector of NTUA, who explained the goals of the Blue Growth Community, presented some of the community’s projects’ results, related to blue crowdfunding (BLUE CROWDFUNDING Interreg MED modular project), circular economy (BLUEfasma Interreg MED modular project) and ports’ sustainability (Psamides Interreg MED modular project). He also invited the participants to be part of the Blue Growth Community’s Advisory Board as external experts and register to the marina-plataform.eu to contribute in the working groups interactions on several blue thematics, as well as to enrich the Blue Growth Community's experts’ library.
