PELAGOS - Promoting innovative nEtworks and cLusters for mArine renewable energy synerGies in mediterranean cOasts and iSland

PELAGOS project develops and promotes national Cluster’s Hubs of blue energy in 7 Mediterranean countries (France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Croatia, Cyprus and Portugal), enhancing the establishment of the transnational Mediterranean Innovative Cluster to accelerate the development of Blue energy in Mediterranean marine areas, through the implementation of pilot activities at both regional and transnational level. During the planned Cluster’s Hubs demonstration events, detailed information will be provided on the Hubs and then the Mediterranean Innovative Cluster. The participants will refer to issues related to RES, maritime and industrial activities, cooperatives and networks in the maritime business environment, etc. The first Cluster’s Hub demonstration events was held in Athens, 25.05.2017 and in Zagreb, 30.05.2017 .

In the framework of the  PELAGOS  project,  ENEA,  Italian  National Agency for  New Technologies,  Energy and Sustainable  Economic Development,  and Unioncamere Veneto, organized the National Workshop: "Blue Energy: trend tecnologici e opportunità di mercato per le imprese italiane”. The workshop was held in Rome, on September 29th, 2017 at ENEA headquarters. In the framework of PELAGOS project, the workshop had been the occasion to present the Italian Hub demonstration Event of the Pelagos Blue Energy Cluster of the Mediterranean Basin. With the participation of the Horizontal Project InnoBlueGrowth and of the national representatives of the TWGs of the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan, it was discussed about technologies, funding policy and regulatory status, environmental issues, and oppurtunities.

In addition, PELAGOS project has been recently presented at the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) in Brisbane and at the University of Western Australia in Perth, by our partner UniZAG – FSB Dr. Hrvoje Mikulcic from UNIZAG FSB (PELAGOS project partner) during his visit to Australia in August and September 2017, used the opportunity to present the INTERREG MED PELAGOS project to the interested scientist and  researchers  at  the  University of  Melbourne  in  Melbourne,  MacquarieUniversityin Sydney,  Commonwealth  Scientific and  Industrial Research  Organisation (CSIRO) in Brisbane, and at the University of Western Australia in Perth.
